CRT Recycling Ltd is classed as a reprocessor operating under the Hazardous Waste and WEEE regulations respectively. Our process transforms old cathode ray tube glass (deemed to be Hazardous Waste) into a  vital raw material product – no longer waste – no longer hazardous.

The key objective of our process is the production of a very high quality secondary raw material product in the form of the cleaned glass.  This glass can and is used in the remanufacture of CRT televisions.

Our current Product Range, from our closed-loop approach, includes:

a.      Panel Glass (Non-Leaded) with laboratory tested standards to ensure constantly below lower specified lead levels.

b.      Funnel Glass (Leaded) with laboratory tested standards to ensure constantly exceeding upper specified lead levels.

Cullet sizes are graded to suit our customers’ needs.

Within our ‘open loop’ approach we have a range of glass products to suit a spectrum of customer needs from low volume artist workshops' needs to major sustainable construction projects – contact us for further information.

Capabilities of the Plant

Initially, the plant was set up to run 24,000 tonnes per annum of input material.  Through a range of comprehensive process and working practice improvements, the company has expanded its permitted capacity to 36,000 tonnes of CRT Glass in June 2010.

AATF Status

The Company operates an AATF licence (WEE/ED0006ZT/ATF) enabling it to issue evidence on obligated waste electrical and electronic equipment.
