CRT Recycling based in the Antelope Industrial Estate, Rhydymwyn, Nr. Mold in Flintshire have won two business awards in a matter of months.
The company applied for the Social and Community award in Flintshire, during Flintshire Business Week in October 2011 and won against some stiff competition.
Gary Tait, director said “ unlike a social enterprise who by their nature of existence invest back into their social cause, CRT Recycling is a private limited company that chooses to invest into our local community”.
On a local level CRT Recycling continue to invest into the following:
• Sponsors of the Rhydymwyn Football Club.
• Sponsor programmes for the village fate and local events.
• Purchased X 4 maths programmes for Pen Coch School Flintshire.
• Donates yearly to the Royal Welsh National Guards for its Afghanistan rehabilitation programme.
• Donates to the local historical society to help promote the heritage of Flintshire.
• The company employ local people and have generated over £250,000 spend in its local economy.
CRT Recycling applied for several categories of the Achievement Wales Awards held on December 2nd and was surprised to see that they were not shortlisted for any of the categories.
The glamorous event held in Bangor was attended by David Burton (Chairman) and Samantha McCoy (Head of Marketing) as supporters for Welsh businesses and held no expectations. To their delight CRT Recycling won the Judges Choice Award for the year, which is issued to the company that showed business excellence across all categories and thus required no shortlist. It was the best kept secret of the night!
David Burton said “ We were genuinely shocked and amazed! We went along to support our Welsh business colleagues and ended the night with one of the most prestigious awards”.
